Monday,July 7thOpen Studio. Come to Open Studio Mondays in July to finish your art projects or start a new one with skills you have learned in class. For all skill levels. Providence Cancer Center,Art Venture,3851 Piper Street U120, 10:00-11:30.

Monday,July 7th:Acrylic Painting. Learn to make a painting on canvas. Curriculum will include principles of 2-D composition,creating an under-drawing,color mixing techniques,and paint application. Tuesday,July 8th:US Too Guys Coffee and Shmoozing. Join Anchorage’s prostate and testicular support group in sharing,asking questions or just listening. It’s a great time to get to know one another and spend some time with those that probably know a thing or two about what you are going through. Every Tuesday,11am. Tuesday,July 8th:Planning Ahead. Learn how to complete advance directives,power of attorney,comfort one,and other important documents. We will explore the above documents and discuss their importance. In addition we will discuss how to be PREPARED for the “unexpected”. 12pm-1pm at Alaska Regional Hospital Cancer Center,Building C,Suite 414. Light refreshments will be provided. Friday,July 11th:Women LISTEN Support Group. Any woman with any type of cancer is invited to attend. Weekly support group meetings every Friday 10—11:30AM at the Quilt Tree. All are welcome- Newly Diagnosed to Long Term Survivor. 222-6285, or

 Friday,July 11th:Look Good,Feel Better. Look Good,Feel Better teaches women how to cope with the appearance related side-effects of treatment. Taught by professional cosmetologists,this program is open to all women undergoing cancer treatment,and it’s free. 11am-1pm at Alaska Regional Hospital Cancer Center,Building C-414.  Mat-Su Valley Area

Wednesday,July 9th:Loop Group. This group was started by some ladies in the group,to keep socially active and available. Open to anyone touched by cancer. They meet for lunch each Wednesday at Mat-Su Family Restaurant at 2pm,if you’d like to eat lunch before the meeting you can come at 1pm. This is a peer support group with no facilitator.

 Friday,July 11th:Healing Yoga on Fridays: A gentle Immune-Restorative Class complimented with restful poses and Yogic breathing for relaxation. Tuesday,July 8th: Coffee with Don. Meet with fellow prostate cancer survivors to go over any new information/resources that have been encountered,talk about how to help anyone who has contacted the Kenai Peninsula Prostate Cancer Support Group and just have fellowship and support. FREE ART CLASSES! We are offering acrylic painting on Mondays and mixed media (clay and acrylic on canvas) on Wednesdays! They are taught by professional artists and all supplies are provided. Classes are completely free!
