Municipality of Anchorage Area

Tuesday,January 27th:US Too Guys Coffee and Shmoozing. Join Anchorage’s prostate and testicular support group in sharing,asking questions or just listening. It’s a great time to get to know one another and spend some time with those that probably know a thing or two about what you are going through. Every Tuesday,11am. Tuesday,January 27th:The Tool Box. A cancer support group for individuals newly diagnosed with any type and stage of cancer. Meets the last Tuesday of each month in the Cancer Center at Alaska Regional Hospital. Building C,suite 414. 11am-12pm. For more information,please contact the Cancer Center at 264-1431.

Tuesday,January 27th:Planning Ahead. Learn how to complete advance directives,power of attorney,comfort one,and other important documents. You will explore the above documents and discuss their importance. In addition you will discuss how to be PREPARED for the “unexpected”. Wednesday,January 28th:Acrylic Painting. Come join popular local artist Katie Sevigny and learn how to create beautiful works of art on canvas with acrylic paint. FREE. No experience necessary. All supplies provided. 6pm – 8pm. Please call 264-1500 to register.

Saturday,January 31st:Yoga Therapy. For cancer caregivers,patients and survivors. Compassionate complementary care for cancer patients and caregivers. Please discuss referral with your doctors,no signed referral is necessary. A release of information between Yoga for Mental Health and your healthcare team may be requested. Billable to insurance for qualified participants. Meet with fellow prostate cancer survivors to go over any new information/resources that have been encountered,talk about how to help anyone who has contacted the Kenai Peninsula Prostate Cancer Support Group and just have fellowship and support.
