 Municipality of Anchorage Area

Tuesday, September 1st: US Too Monthly Meeting. Join Anchorage’s prostate and testicular support group in sharing, asking questions or just listening. It’s a great time to get to know one another and spend some time with those that probably know a thing or two about what you are going through. 6pm-7:30pm. Providence Cancer Center, 2nd floor, Robert Pulliam Room.

 Tuesday, September 1st: American Cancer Society Support Group. Weekly support group for cancer patients, survivors, family and caregivers. Every Tuesday, 7-8:30pm at Wells Fargo Bank. 301 W. Northern Lights, second floor conference room. 258-1937.

Wednesday, September 2nd: US Too Guys Coffee and Shmoozing. Join Anchorage’s prostate and testicular support group in sharing, asking questions or just listening. It’s a great time to get to know one another and spend some time with those that probably know a thing or two about what you are going through. Every Wednesday, 10am. Thursday, September 3rd: Alaska Native Medical Center Cancer Support Group. 1st & 3rd Thursday for Native Alaskan’s only at ANMC from 2-3pm. Call 729-1179 to find out location.

Friday, September 4thWomen LISTEN Support Group. Any woman with any type of cancer is invited to attend. Weekly support group meetings every Friday 10—11:30AM at the Quilt Tree. All are welcome- Newly Diagnosed to Long Term Survivor. 222-6285, bj4wmnlisten@gmail.com or www.womenlisten.org.

Saturday, September 5th: Yoga Therapy. For cancer caregivers, patients and survivors. Compassionate complementary care for cancer patients and caregivers. Please discuss referral with your doctors, no signed referral is necessary. A release of information between Yoga for Mental Health and your healthcare team may be requested. Billable to insurance for qualified participants. Saturday, September 5th: THNC Survivor Support & Fellowship Group. Survivors of throat, head, and neck cancer are welcome to join in on this support group that meets the first Saturday of each month at Barnes & Noble’s coffee shop on E. Northern Lights Blvd. For any questions, call Liz 350-2165.

Sunday, September 6th: Gynecologic Cancer Support Group: Open to women with a gynecologic cancer diagnosis,1st & 3rd Sunday each month starting Sunday, Jan. 4th  2-3:30pm at Alaska Women’s Cancer Care lobby, 3851 Piper St., Ste. U264, Anchorage 99508.

Mat-Su Valley Area

Friday, September 4thHealing Yoga on Fridays: A gentle Immune-Restorative Class complimented with restful poses and Yogic breathing for relaxation.  Monday, August 31st: Kenai Peninsula Women’s Cancer Support Group. Support group for women with any type of cancer, survivors or currently undergoing treatment who promotes emotional and spiritual well-being. Tuesday, September 1st: Coffee with Don. Meet with fellow prostate cancer survivors to go over any new information/resources that have been encountered, talk about how to help anyone who has contacted the Kenai Peninsula Prostate Cancer Support Group and just have fellowship and support. Southeast Area

 Monday, August 31st: Team Survivor Perseverance Walk/Run Program. Monday walking group focuses on heart rate. Meets at 5:30 p.m. each week from Downtown/Valley Juneau Racquet Clubs. Wednesday, September 2nd: Interior Alaska Cancer Support Group. This group concentrates on general support and assistance in dealing with specific cancers.
