Municipality of Anchorage Area
Monday, June 27th: The Ah-LAFska Club. This mind-body-spirit program of gentle ‘laughter exercises’ will help motivate your brain chemistry to improve health and healing, based on GOOD HEART LIVING to prevent hardening of the attitudes. Tuesday, June 28th: Look Good, Feel Better. Teaches women how to cope with the appearance-related side effects of treatment. Taught by professional cosmetologists, Look Good, Feel Better is open to all women undergoing cancer treatment, and it’s free! 6pm-8pm. Providence Cancer Center, U Tower-2nd Floor, Suite 2281. Wednesday, June 29th: US Too Guys Coffee and Shmoozing. Join Anchorage’s prostate and testicular support group in sharing, asking questions or just listening. It’s a great time to get to know one another and spend some time with those that probably know a thing or two about what you are going through. Every Wednesday, 10am. Wednesday, June 29th: Yoga in the Park with Anchorage Young Cancer Coalition. This is a really great community event.  Please join us and bring a yoga mat or a towel.  If the weather is rainy then we can still meetup for coffee at Kaladi Brothers in City Market. Free! Delaney Park Strip, 6-7pm.
Friday, July 1st Women LISTEN Support Group. Any woman with any type of cancer is invited to attend. Weekly support group meetings every Friday 10—11:30AM at the Alaska Regional Hospital Cancer Center, Building C, Suite 414. As Needed: Tool Box. A cancer support group for individuals diagnosed with any type and stage of cancer. At Alaska Regional Hospital Cancer Care Center, Building C, Suite 414. To schedule a session, call 264-1431.
As Needed: Planning Ahead. Learn how to complete advanced directives, power of attorney, comfort one, and other important documents. We will explore the above documents and discuss their importance. In addition we will discuss how to be PREPARED for the “unexpected”. At Alaska Regional Hospital Cancer Care Center, Building C, Suite 414. To schedule a session, call 264-1431.

Monday, June 27th: Kenai Peninsula Women’s Cancer Support Group. Support group for women with any type of cancer, survivors or currently undergoing treatment who promotes emotional and spiritual well-being. Tuesday, June 28th: Coffee with Don. Meet with fellow prostate cancer survivors to go over any new information/resources that have been encountered, talk about how to help anyone who has contacted the Kenai Peninsula Prostate Cancer Support Group and just have fellowship and support. Available to anyone (look for blue PC baseball hats). Every Tuesday at 11am. Kenai Safeway Store in Kenai, AK. 283-9206.

Monday, June 27th: Team Survivor Perseverance Walk/Run Program. This walking group focuses on heart rate. Meets on Mondays at 10:00am and Wednesdays at 5:15pm at Diamond Field House (until Spring) to walk indoors. There is also a yoga class on Saturdays at 10:00am. Tuesday, July 5th: Gynecologic Cancer Support Group. Let Every Woman Know is offering a regular support group free of charge in a drop-in format. This group is facilitated by a licensed mental health clinician. Please join us! Open to women in all stages of gynecologic cancer diagnosis, treatment, or survivorship. The topic for this date is sleep: hygiene practices to optimize good quality sleep. 1st & 3rd Tuesday of each month, 12-1:30pm, Providence Cancer Center Conference Room 2401, 3851 Piper Street, 2nd Floor, Tower U, Anchorage 99508.
